The Best Western Hotel Rembrandt is just a 5-minute walk from the award winning Weymouth beach and features a traditional restaurant and a modern leisure club with indoor heated pool. Weymouth town centre is a mile away a lovely walk along the promenade.
The rooms are light and airy with tv, coffee and tea making facilities and there is a lift serving some floors.
Weymouth is a delightful place with sandy beach, picturesque harbour and lovely shopping area with some quaint narrow streets and independent retailers.
While you are there take time to see Greenhill Gardens on the promenade or take in the views from the Nothe Fort. Walk around the beautiful historic harbour with its fishing trawlers and visiting luxury yachts.
Day 1: After pick up from home you travel to Weymouth, stopping at Athelhampton House and Gardens, one of Englands finest Tudor Manor Houses with Grade 1 listed gardens. Arrive at hotel late afternoon.
Day 2: Today we visit Abbotsbury sub-tropical gardens, a peaceful garden with a mixture of formal and informal flowers and famous for its Camellia groves and magnolias. Café on site. After, we take a scenic drive to Portland Bill, stopping at the Portland Bill visitor centre. Climb the lighthouse steps (not included) to take in the views!
Day 3: Today we travel to Hardys House, Max Gate where we have a guided tour. Hardy wrote some of his greatest novels and poetry here and lived here until his death in 1928. After there is time to explore the county town of Dorchester with its pretty High Street with various shops and cafes.
Day 4: A free day in Weymouth. Explore the seafront, the shops and harbour, maybe walk to Northe Fort or take a boat ride around Portland Harbour or the Jurassic Coast.
Day 5: After breakfast we set off for home with a stop at Swanage on the way
