Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the High Weald of Sussex with its higher rainfall, more moist retentive soils and range of microclimates, you can enjoy an enormous variety of garden areas spanning hundreds of acres. Make sure you have your walking shoes!
The Millennium Seed Bank stores seeds from 97 counties, representing over 39,000 different species and scientists can be seen at work within this area.
The stunning Grade 1 listed Elizabethan Mansion sits at the heart of Wakehurst. Newly reopened you can delve into the mansions transformation over the centuries.
Included in your ticket is a 75-minute private tour of the garden.
Refreshments Various places are available within Wakehurst for coffee and cake, snacks or a hot meal.
Accessibility There are large areas which have gravel and hard surface paths. The remaining garden and woodland areas have steep slopes and steps. (The Wakehurst visitor map shows the different types of paths around the site)
