This French Renaissance-style chateau with its world-class collection and beautiful gardens and grounds has something for you all to enjoy!

 

Inspired by the Loire valley and built by a Rothschild in the 19th century, this magnificent building is filled with many royal treasures and many objects with a story to tell.

Within the house you will find an abundance of 18th century French objects, portraits, porcelain and furniture. There are up to 45 rooms for you to visit and wine cellars with over 15,000 bottles of wine!

 

The gardens also display the French influence with such diverse features as the Parterre (A formal French inspired garden known for its ‘carpet-bedding); the ornate, rococo-style aviary which houses rare and exotic birds and of course fountains and sculptures.

 

NB – the gardens are open all day. Entrance to the house is between 12pm – 3.30pm

 

Refreshments – Food and drinks can be bought in the Stables Café or the Coffee Bar

Accessibility – Ground floor of house step free access, lift to first floor – grounds have easy access paths.
