Sherborne Abbey and Market Day
The pretty town of Sherborne is a shopper’s paradise offering a mixture of independent shops, high street brands and markets.
The main shopping area in Sherborne is centred around Cheap Street. The traditional high street is packed with boutiques, art galleries, delis and antique shops.
In between the shops , you’ll find charming street side cafes, many with outside seating to watch the world go by and admire the town’s architecture.
The fabulous Sunday Market features local producers, suppliers, amazing food and Arts & Crafts.
The beautiful Abbey church of Sherborne dates from Saxon times and has the heaviest peak of eight bells in the world. The stone, fan-vaulted is stunning.
It is the earliest vaulted ceiling in existence.
The Abbey is free to visit although donations are welcome.
