A day in the beautiful Sussex countryside.

Enjoy a morning in the stunning Sheffiled Park Gardens, followed by a return journey on the famous Bluebell Railway which includes a cream tea!

 

Sheffield Park Gardens

In the morning, we visit the beautiful gardens at Sheffield Park which lie in the East Sussex countryside.  This is an ancient estate, once the gift of King’s and mentioned in the Domesday Book.  You will have plenty of time to wander the areas of landscaped gardens, bridges, lakes and cascades, all of which are surrounded by woodland and parkland.

 

Refreshments – The Coach House Café can provide you with drinks, snacks and lunch.

Accessibility – Loose gravel and grass paths with some inclines.

Bluebell Railway

After departing from Sheffield Park we drive the short distance to Sheffield Park Station.

The station has been restored to reflect the Brighton era of the 1880’s. There are historical exhibits, period architecture, a museum and shop to visit.  A perfect starting point for your journey through time!

We board our steam train for the return journey to East Grinstead at 1440, during which we pass through a number of restored stations and eat a cream tea!

We arrive back at Sheffield Park Station at 1620 and board the coach for home

 

Refreshments – Cream tea provided on the train.  Drinks and snacks are also available on the station at Sheffield Park.

Accessibility – Level platforms with a step up into train carriages.
