Spend a day delving into the 300 years of Blenheim Palaces history. As the home to the 12th Duke of
Marlborough and his family and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim is a UNESCO World
Heritage Site boasting a long and diverse history.
The Palace was built as a gift to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, from Queen Anne and a grateful nation in thanks for his victory at the Battle of Blenheim
on 13th August 1704.
During your day at Blenheim, you will have plenty of time to discover the rich history of the Palace through
wandering the Palace State Rooms, the Churchill Exhibition, Stables Exhibition and the formal gardens and
grounds which are vast and very beautiful.
Audio guides can be downloaded onto your mobile phone using the QR codes on the boards outside the
castle.
Refreshments There are five different cafes and restaurants from which to choose your morning snack
and lunch hopefully something for all tastes.
Accessibility Where possible the site is accessible for wheelchair, mobility scooters and buggy users.
There is level access from the main entrance to many areas of the Palace and a lift to the upper floors.
Some areas of the garden have uneven surfaces.
